New Water Fountains for City Parks
New Water Fountains for City Parks
Friends of Huxley is happy to report that two new water fountains were purchased and donated to the Huxley Parks and Recreation Department in late summer, 2022. This donation was the culmination of fundraising efforts and collaborations with local businesses to put the water fountains and bottle filling stations at Railroad and Centennial Parks. The fountains will be installed to start the outdoor season in the spring 2023.
Friends of Huxley partnered with Fenceline Beer Lab to hold a fundraising bunch on May 14, 2022. Participants had options to contribute to the project through their ticket purchases, tips online, and games. Double Dipped generously contributed their tip jar in July towards the project. Finally, a grant was submitted through the Aureon Charity Grant Program and the award ($750) was matched by Huxley Communications.
This was the initial fundraising project in which Friends of Huxley was involved. In addition to the partnerships with area businesses, an online donation portal was created on this website. The portal is active today and the tax-deductible donations are all used to support the Huxley community.
